RSSRadio7 Podcast Downloader 1.08 Submitted for Review

Whats New:

• You can now view which shows are downloaded and taking up space
  
• In the podcast directory, you can choose to download a single show
  
• You won't be allowed to subscribe to the same podcast more than once
• "Play all" when items are already in the play queue will ask what to do
• the "black screen of death" is finally banished!
• a playback issue which may have resulted in a crash after playing video podcasts is resolved
• the volume control on the iPad had gone missing but is now making a triumphant return
• for podcasts set to manual downloads, RSSRadio7 will post an alert when new shows are found(controlled by the same switch as download alerts for now)

Whats New: 

• You can now search on the "category playlist" screen
• The "Add to Play Queue" button is much enhanced, its organised by category and you can sort and filter the list, and "add all"
• dar.fm shows which are no longer downloaded, and no longer available on the server will be automatically removed from the subscription screen
• Using the lock screen skip controls, the played time will stay in sync
  
• Added a setting to automatically add completed podcast downloads to the playback queue
• Fix an issue with background downloads
• Localisations updated

Podcast app playback speeds

Marco Arment has posted an article on Podcast App Playback Speeds, the most interesting thing for me  is just how much of an awful solution these multi playback speeds are.

This is precisely why i created the silence skip feature in RSSRadio - before you start trying to garble what you are listening to lets first take out the dead air, its surprisingly effective and frankly almost imperceptible.

Whats New: 

• the silence remover is very slightly more aggressive
•  when the silence remover is taking out a lot of time, the phone lock screen time remaining won't get out of sync
• the swipe left/right table cells have been replaced by standard iOS, swipe left to reveal 2 buttons
• on the podcast subscription detail list, each episode no longer has cryptic icons but has words to describe its status
• on the "Category play list" (shows screen), you can choose between an icon and a detail view
•  "plus button does not allow you to add podcast subscriptions" - fixed
• "additional categories screen crashing" - fixed

RSSRadio7 1.05 has been submitted to Apple for review. 

Whats New:

• password protected podcasts are now working
• you can now configure the look of the podcasts screen between shows and subscriptions, great for those who want a retro "classic RSSRadio" feel
• you can configure a default action when you tap on a show icon
• fixed a bug where the screen went black
• fixed a host of other small bugs
• optimised background refresh to cope with bad networks and still keep you up to date
